Laina Morris, the star of the overly hooked up girlfriend (OAG) meme, simply offered the NFT model of her viral picture for a sizeable quantity of Ethereum (ETH).
The Overly Hooked up Girlfriend meme is a screenshot from a 2012 parody video of Justin Bieber’s music “Boyfriend” portraying Morris as an aggressively clingy girlfriend with a creepy stare.
Morris is cashing in on the booming marketplace for non-fungible token (NFT) property by selling an authenticated model of her memefied picture.

The digital merchandise fetched 200 Ethereum (ETH), or $415,430, from 3F Music, a Dubai-based purchaser of high-value NFTs.
NFTs depend on distinctive cryptographic properties which allow the blockchain to confirm the originality and possession of digital property together with artworks, parcels of digital lands, and collectibles.
The NFT mania is reaching fever pitch with artists like rapping icon Snoop Dogg and Grammy winner The Weeknd hopping on the bandwagon. Final month, graphic artist Beeple offered a digital paintings for a record-smashing $69,346,250.
Amid the NFT craze, some worry that the market is partially a bubble. Says crypto asset funding agency BlockTower Capital CIO Ari Paul,
“It’s concurrently a bubble and a sport changer, just like the web in 1999 or Bitcoin in 2017. For my part, current NFT valuations are a bubble *and* whole worth of all NFTs will probably be 100x right here in 5 years.”
